ANTIBODIES AND RAPID TES KITS FOR CIVID 19 IN DELHI, PUNJAB & SOME OTHER STATES:

In the light of Antibody Tests conduced in 2 States in India , and a few more following, we are faced with some genuine questions that face us. We must know what is Antibody Testing how beneficial it is. One it is far Cheaper than RTPCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Cross Reaction ) : What Is an Antibody Test?

An antibody test is a screening for things called antibodies(ANTIGENS) in the blood. The body makes these when it fights an infection/Virus, like COVID-19 for example . The same happens when you get a vaccine, like a flu shotpolio, dphtheriaetc. So these antibodies will fight the disease causing Virus. That’s how you build immunity to a virus. So the Anti bodies produced in our Blood is Virus Specific . May produce Antibodies to one or more viruses. It is also called a serology test. What Delhi and Punjab have done and the study says that 29% of the Delhi population has developed Antibodies to Covid19 virus . That is a sizable percentage . If the percentage reaches 70 % and above , the Residents get a Tag that they have developed Antibodies and immune to that specific Virus .

We have some Questions to be clarified before we think we are immune to the present type of Corona Sars CoV 2 virus :

* Does the Test refer to immunity to Covid 19 specifically or any of the other 3 types which aren’t as harmful ?

* If so how long the Immunity will last ?

* Will the people with Antibodies infect others ?

ICMR has said categorically that RTPCR is the Gold standard Test, to confirm Covid 19 , along with Rapid Antigen Test RTPCR is also done, as some false negatives are reported with Raid Antige Test .

IF ONLY IT IS PROVED THAT THE ANTIGEN PRESENT IS AGAINST THE PRESENT COVID 19 , AND ALL THE SCIENTISTS RESEARCHING, ANSWER THE ABOVE QUESTIONS IN OUR MINDS , WHAT A SIGH OF RELIEF FOR US TILL WE GET THE VACCINE .
* Boost Immunity
- Add Lif to Years * Sqeeze the Virus from lungs with
Pranayama
* Reduce Viral Load (follow Norms ) more

Jayakumar sir, nice to see you raising an important topic. I am attaching a news item from the prestigious Science Magazine published on 7 Aug 2020. Before, one reads this article, it will be better to understand what these 3 words/phrases mean: 1- Antigen - a small portion of the virus, detection of which in the saliva or blood will indicate that the individual is harbouring the virus. 2- Antibody - is a protein response to the virus. This may either mean active infection or past infection. since antibodies stay in the blood for quite some time even after the infection is cleared. 3- RT- PCR - is test where a small portion of the active component (nucleic acid) of the virus is amplified. This is a highly sensitive and very specific test of active infection but takes time, expertise and equipment is costly. Therefore, worldover, scientists are trying to screen individuals suspected of infection with either of the first two tests and if they are positive, then go for the third test. Please read only news items and articles published in scientific journals. Please do not rely on newspaper reports. Articles published in scientific journals (which are checked by experts in the field for accuracy) should be the only source of information. Many of these journals have open access, so one need not pay for reading them. Moreover, in the last 30 years, scientific writing has to conform to a certain style so that non scientists can also understand the main gist of the article published. Now, kindly read the attached article. V.D.Ramanathan MBBS, PhD (London),] Scientist G (Retd) Indian Council of Medical Reasearch. more
Yes. Immunity boosting is the only remedy for the present pandemic. The government should give more emphasis for immunity-boosting of all as laid down by the AYUSH MINISTRY and negative news on COVID19 through print media, social media, TV channels etc. should be stopped immediately as they reduce the immunity of the listeners/viewers/patients. more
No one is interested in curing the epidemic Private hospitals profits are soaring,Govt hospital doctors and other supporting staff are dieing Govt does not provide enough stuff for testing and asking them to achieve unpractical targets Why is this descriminations more
It's nice to see experts exchanging views.... more
Ashok Subramanian is absolutely right. My daughter in the USA did the saliva test. It was easy and great with no discomfort, while my other daughter in Mumbai had to bear discomfort as the swab was put right into her nose. The government should start this test which is much less expensive but most units will not do so as their profits will be reduced! more
Yes we have seen the Video of the NPS & OPS (the Swabs taken through the nose & moutn) being taken by the lealth workers . They push ,dig, rotate the Swab so roughly that many cough and sneeze half way .

They could be litle more gentle if they find taking the saliva tase (by gargle )a bit difficult . more
