There was a news today that the Government of India has come out or is coming out with an Ordinance to the effect that Aadhaar Card will be essential for such operations. Please check up with the Department or CBDT Office. more

Please see the link to this news item in my earlier post. The proposed ordinance seeks to prevent denial of service if someone does not agree Aadhar authentication. The other solutions are the proposed QR code and Virtual Id to mask the real Aadhar number.

There is lack of clarity in many quarters about Aadhar Card which will hopefully become clear to all in due course. It may be best to provide the Aadhar number for quick claim settlement for now.
