Appeal to PM to make India Personal Income Tax Mukt
As per data released by Income Tax Department the details of returns filed are as under:
a) ITR 1 3,03,00,000
b) ITR 2 57,60,000
c) ITR 3 1,02,00,000
d) ITR 4 1,75,00,000
Total 6,37,60,000
The above data shows that less than 5% of population is filing ITRs. Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said on Twitter, “CBDT issues refunds of over Rs 1,54,302 crores to more than 1.59 crore taxpayers from April 1, 2021 to Jan 10, 2022.
We appeal to PM to make India personal income tax free. The advantages of taking this step are many. Crores of hours spent in calculating TDS, depositing TDS, issuing Form 16,filing of ITRs, Assessment of ITRs, Issue of refunds etc. will be available for doing other productive work. Public will deposit their money in banks without fear. Cash transactions will reduce.
We request Local Circles to escalate this appeal.

It is true that a lot money can be saved and save lot of people from harassment. Some time back the abolition of IT Act made rounds vigorously but not taken up. Even now it is not too late to abolish the Act to provide relief for citizens. The Govt. may derive this benefit by taxing on consumption based on value of goods like luxury goods, cars etc., like GST, Cess. This will enable to cover the revenue loss of imaginary income received through Income Tax Act.

ITR-2 filing has become difficult task for the Senior Citizens, those having Capital gains from Mutual Fund investing. Request exempt Senior citizens from this CGains especially from these Mutual Funds category.
