Are finger print required for KYC with mobile wallets?
Of the few option listed on the mobile wallet as required KYC document , I submitted a government issued ID card. I was informed someone will visit the premise to verify physically the ID card and seek an appointment and which I promptly gave.
The executive turned up one day after the appointed day and time and then followed the usual process of sending a code on mobile and asking for the same (this could have been done on phone). He then proceeded to ask for the FINGER PRINTS. He was carrying a finger scanner.
It left me stumped - I denied. But it has left me wondering are these organization authorized to collect finger prints? more
Given the data security conerns floating globally - finger print is a very personal information and only organization having government sanction should be authorized to collect more
