Are pharma co.s setting narrative and targets

earlier clinical threshold for diagnosing diabetes from a fasting blood glucose of level of 140+ was brought to <180.

Now high BP is 130/80 instead of 140/90

Next fever will be 95.1 and with the new health narrative will be big boost in business for these companies.

Time for some leadership from health ministry of india more

It is all confusing. I do not understand the reasons behind this change in clinical standards for diagnosis. Does this change indicate the improvement in the human biology/physiology/chemistry? Such a change in standards will then demand treatment approach. Who will explain this phenomenon, Medical Council of India or the pharmaceutical industry, or some other specialists' body? more
The role of Health minister is wellness!; Encourage people towards more active lifestyle - daily walk, pedal to work, run across the country ... and we too as citizens should grow more trees, eat fresh milk with malai (not concoctions by Nestle or Cadbury- Boost, Bournvita etc.). We must, all of us, live with a good understanding of our body+ the environment, take minimum medicines (only under strict prescription). Spending time outdoors in the woods/villages is much better than going to the gyms. 'Big Pharma' does not serve anyone but themselves and doctors are shamelessly becoming -promoters of ill health.. Reducing the numbers to count as High BP is Bad News :-( more
The kind of polluted air, water and food we consume worldwide with lazy lifestyle, something more surprising we may see in future. more
Absolutely correct in diabetes also there running a billion dollar scam, they are reducing the numbers to increase the number of patients. Before 1997 it was difficult to find a diabetic patient but now every household is having a diabetic patient. It means human body have evolved suddenly after 1997 more
