While it's common to hear 'You're welcome', whether or not we are actually welcome in someone's life or their conversation is a matter of deep pondering. Here is a trick using which you can tell whether or not you are actually welcome.
When you join a conversation that is already taking place, notice the feet of the people involved. If they move their feet as you join them, they are welcoming you. However, if only their torsos moved, you might want to excuse yourself a bit earlier than you planned.
While we all try to look into the eyes of people to tell whether they like to talk to us or not, this can well be a welcome change, and also, it doesn't look as awkward as an eye contact that says "Why don't you just leave?"
Therefore, from the next time, notice the feet before you notice the eyes. more
