India intends to become super power by 2020 but how it is possible with corrupt crooked and block headed leaders, wicked and mad leftists, greedy businessmen, dying farmers, scandalous society, free lunch aspirants, disabled and frightened common man in search of savior. It is said that you get leaders you deserve.
USA is a super power with no arms control and you can buy a gun. USA has more diversity than India not only religious, ethnic but even international community, high rivalry, high crime rate, punishments at torturous jail to the tune of 120 years but fast police action, and they really do look like police officer. Indian leaders and police can perform only in zund and look like sheep herd. Criminals, bandits therefore are more powerful and glorified by coward society. We have been given independence after disarming and humiliation. Weapons are freely available to the criminals and leaders and the arms control in India is a subject of laugh.
In order to gain warrior spirit with dignity and freedom from fear, most problems of crime, oppression, trafficking, terrorizing shall end with free arms sale than control. Like USA there should be departmental store for arms open to public.
Every educated citizen, women, young girls must have a license to weapon either fire arm with name and license printed on weapon and also on allocated bullet shell. A code of conduct and misuse of the weapon for personal enmity or crime can be dealt with severe consequences and police will become smarter. Equip responsible citizen with arms like USA. Every govt. officer must carry a small gun. Every cop must have a rod and gun. Every citizen has a right to defend himself but no one has a right to compel to live under unsecured conditions. People in all states get killed by goons, political and criminal only because they are unprotected and unarmed. more

I agree with you Mr Sharad Chitre except the armed and ammunition in hands of citizens. You know what happened often in USA? Lot of people and children shot dead by the insane gun men. When there is weapon in the hands of anyone he wants to take revenge from his enemy. The person with a weapon lose his temper and in haste he can commit the horrible mistake. more

I believe access to gun power for common citizens will not resolve the problem of crime. With the example of USA, they too have come to understand the negatives of giving guns to common citizens liberally and hence the gun control campaigns are gaining traction. An efficient police force with an effective communication network could solve the issue to a great extent. Arms Licencing may not take care the present menace .. Proper Policing, Political will to change make it more simpler .. See what happens when such system is threatened with change in highest level... Strong Political opponents are hell bent on to spoil these good efforts ... It is still a far dream that India could becomes a true Nationalistic unless people love their Nation first and get united under single banner of Nation and not the divided under various isms... taught and preached so far since it helps the present system of few people with strong clout in the system exists as of now . Great unity of our people and mass and a LEADER is required or to be groomed out of it .... Til then some small effort by one and all of us in Society to slowly bring a movement to change the present and bring in a step wise change.. People who are opposing gun rights in India forget that gun laws in India were enforced in 1858 by the British. Before that there were no gun or weapons laws in India. So the argument that liberal guns and weapons ownership in India is against 'Indian culture' is not true. more
