Artificial ripening of fruits & Poisoning of foods
Similarly, production and use of pesticides/insecticides/ fungicides also require monitoring. Green vegetables & fruits eaten without peeling get severely poisoned by spraying on them at different stages. The rampant growth of Cancer cases and other diseases point to such poisoned food. The concerned authorities approving manufacture and sale of these harmful chemicals should exercise adequate supervision, apart from clear-cut laws against misuse. The food controllers and related agencies should conduct random check as a routine to ensure that the food we eat are safe and we do not get poisoned along with pests and insects.
Our country can improve only if corruption and irresponsible/casual working by authorities are checked. Commitment and sincerity of officials would ensure elimination of wrong doings to a great extent.
The country is losing very heavily by poisoning ourselves in these different ways and then seeking free govt. health services or spending to go to private hospitals. Hence, health and wealth are both casualties of our casualness and greed of people to make money at any cost. Of course, ignorance also plays a major role at the level of agriculturists and consumers. The Modi Govt. should start a major MISSION covering all the above aspects on the lines of Swatchh Bharat Mission. more
