Asian Paints doing total profiteering
So friends and govt officials - this asian paints company is openly doing profiteering. We were planning to get home painted before dussehra and had taken some screenshots for estimation. See how 10 litre tractor emulsion white was mrp 1340 in july. These rates were reduced from 28 to 18% and mrp post july 27 should have been 1206. Instead asian paints increased it to 1670, 38% higher than what it should be.
Will the profiteering officials book them immediately please. A lot of people would be buying paints in the next 45 days before diwali. more

Yes indeed with emulsifying agents which are a byproduct of Petroleum and with increasing cost and weakening rupee many Industries are in same boat where they have no option but to increase the selling price to insulate themselves against the loss of imports. GST regime did loosen some devils which industrialist have now begun to identify and fear however the Government had no vision or forethought about it and now don't have a plan to tackle it either. more

I beg to differ with your opinion Madam. If we look at the "Pkd", it is blank or same as "A25" in both the pictures you shared. It indicates that image has been kept the same by the seller. It is quite possible that cheaper pack could be fairly old and costlier pack could be newer one but not necessarily after the reduction of GST. For fair judgement, we need to compare price vis-a-vis date of packing. In addition to this, we cannot rule out increase in price of paints for following reasons: a) increase in polymer emulsion prices because of crude price increase b) Increase in imported TiO2 prices because of depreciating rupee against $. c) Increase in extender prices because of increase in transportation cost because of increase in diesel price. more

To contain the cost there should be competition. But unfortunately there is no good competition for Asian paints. So they do it with pleasure what they feel like. more
