Asian Paints refuses to respond!
Had got my house externally waterproofed in 2019, just before the covid lockdown. Also 3 rooms were painted etc... they left the job partly done and said they would return and finish. I paid all their bills in full, for the work already completed.
In the first monsoon itself in 2020, the wall & part of the roof leaked at several places, due to seepage, our false ceiling fell down - we sent them pics, they said they'll send someone. Their person came and looked around - and after that .... NOTHING!
Its now been 2 years!!! I have sent them over 20 emails and reminders, complained to their consumer services deptt, spoken to the contractor... all to no avail... just a standard response that "we are looking into it".... in the middle we also got a written email that "our website is being upgraded and so we'll get back to you".....
I have paid over Rs.5 Lakhs.....
is this how a large corporate like Asian Paints treats its paying customers?
Do I have no recourse except to file legal charges and spend more money? more
Their products are top class.
But no big company is successful in labour intensive work. By getting outside labour to do the work in their name, they are losing their reputation due to the failures of individual labourers.
Instead, they should find good painting / waterproofing contractors in each locality, and empanel them. They should ask customers to rate their work and post reviews.
In this way, customers will not mix up the quality of the product with the quality of the labour. more
