ATM of ICICI Bank disbursing Torn & Mutilated Note
My son has withdrawn some cash on 17.2.2018 from ATM of ICICI Bank, ATM Code SCVDJ-925 located at Jheel, Delhi-110051 where the ATM is disbursing denomination of Rs.2000/- cut & mutilated notes. And the machine installed there is not generating the slip of cash withdrawn from ATM. Notes should be sorted out at branch & issuable notes should be feed up in the ATM but they are feeding cut & mutilated Notes in the ATM which can not be accepted by any Bank & in this way they are harassing the public at large. I give below the image of one note received from the above ATM which no Bank will accept & we are helpless from where to exchange it. Hope concerned authorities will look into the matter & set the things right. more

The ICICI bank branch does not fill the currency notes in the ATM. The whole process is outsourced. While handling this function in Mumbai I experienced that the outsourced currency handler would draw new notes from my Bank but the ATMs would not necessarily dispense such new notes. They would be filled in the ATMs of ICICI Bank and HDFC bank. We used to carry out inspection and found that the new notes drawn from us were kept in the currency handler's safe to deposit in favoured ATMs. Our staff drawing cash from our ATM would find it did not dispense fresh notes. Also the picture of the note appears to indicate some defect in the ATM that is tearing the note. You should complain to ICICI Bank for necessary action. If you find no response you could also send a complaint to RBI Dept of Banking Operations or the Consumer Grievance Forum in your area. L.Kalavathi Retd.
