Auto Sales Doldrums

August auto sales drop in per cent :

- Maruti Suzuki 33%
- Hyundai 9.54%
- Honda 51%
- Tata Motors 58%
- Toyota 21%
- Eicher-Volvo 41.7%
- Mahindra & Mahindra 25%
- Mahindra Tractors 17%.

This is starting to look very scary. If FMCGs see even 25% of it - its a breakdown.

Eminent members of various circles must list solutions on what should be done.

The Govt may not be willing to lend an ear to Man Mohan Singh but am sure will listen to voices of masses.

LocalCircles must escalate once inputs are ready. Believe there was a discussion on this in transforming india too recently. more

You have not taken into account the sales of KIA, Hyundai Venue, MG Hector and new entrants in the market...why give skewed information ? On Mon, 2 Sep 2019 at 08:14, Rohit Jain wrote: > more
i do not understand the slow down. If you go & buy a new car waiting period is same. Not much reduction in price even though steel prices have come down, not much of a discount are any additional accessories offered but still the slow down is claimed to be as big as 58%. more
Well people are just getting into satisfaction circle.. There's no stopping to get better'products.. but of late govt norms and taxes taught lessons.. On an 8 lakh vehicle we spend 3.2 lakhs on insurance, RTO charges and GST.. well that's too much on the car price.. These FMCG companies have gone down as the the online retailers like Amazon and off line retailers like big bazzar, reliance etc have brought in products with their brand and they are good and economical.. So the drop in sales is not because consumers are not buying, infact they are buying other brands.. Overall people are satisfied with minimal resources.. that's good for nation.. more
With so much pollution and global warming due to fossil-fuel driven vehicles, auto sales down is good news. Local Circles should think of alternative modes of transport like mass rapid transport systems, dedicated cycle paths and walkways. The latter two have totally gone; people use two-wheelers even to go to the next street. This not only increases pollution but also makes people unhealthy by their avoiding walking and cycling. High time, we thought of these instead of moaning about auto sales going down as if it is the only index for the economic well being of the country. more
These Automakers have to blame themselves. They never wanted Electric Vehicles to be developed and popularized. Always took benefits from Oil Marketers who are not bothered about natural resources and health aspects. Profits is only the keyword for these two sectors who are going to die very soon unless they change over to the new technologies and evolve. Why can't they export their vehicles by meeting stringent quality demands? Reluctance to change caused death of Ambassador and Premier at one time. Now it is the turn of other Automakers unless they sense the changes and adopt to them. more
