Auto Services is a major problem
Auto service providers have no standards in India and they make your vehicle wait at times for days, sometimes weeks and months because of some part.
Can BIS please make rules such that these auto companies have to set up a proper service network and consumers are not given the answer - “this part will come from Germany or Japan”
Before any car is approved for sale in India, does it require BIS product approval??? Why dont we set service standards then and there.

Many vehicles are out of road because of non-available of spare parts and most particularly the foreign colaberated vehicles. While government issuing permission for such manufacturing, they should ensure sufficient supply of spare parts.

No such problems with India made cars. It serves the renegades right for going in for imported cars. Let them solve the issue by themselves.

I think the Consumers who can afford these German / Japanese Cars have the resources to take up the Issues directly with Manufacturers / Dealers etc - why are we looking for Govt support / standards ?

The government has already taken a view to support sales of new vehicle by restricting fit and safe automobile vehicles by way of End-of-Life by the term of number of years in service. Technically, it is absolutely irrational on the part of Governments and Authorities like NGT. Manufacturers will have no intentions and incentive to maintain spare parts availability for long life of vehicles, thereby causing hard time to the citizens who own personal car and maintained them well. I do not hope for rational rules and regulations as long corrupt and insensitive minds prevail in governance and administration.
