Availability of Footpath for pedestrians

We have taken an initiative to get footpath around Society area in Mayur Vihar Phase-1 cleared of all encroachments so that pedestrians especially senior citizens, women and children can walk safely. In absence of clear footpath, everyone is forced to walk on road putting their life at risk.

Residents of different Societies undertook a collective walk on the footpath on morning of 3rd May to record different encroachments and to request different encroachers to clear the footpath for its legitimate use by pedestrians.

A Report on the walk is attached. This has been forwarded to EDMC, Delhi Government and Delhi Police for suitable action.

I urge all residents of Delhi to start using footpath whenever they step out to walk to the market/ nearby areas so that pedestrians right to use footpath gets established. more
