AVOIDABLE TRAGEDY
When a religious gathering, or Satsang, is organized, people flock to the venue from nearby towns. Typically, an organizing committee, led by the religious leader, projects attendance numbers, selects the location, and seeks permission from the police, giving assurances and receiving instructions.
In the incident described in the attached clip, it appears that neither the organizers nor the district administration took these responsibilities seriously.
The value of human life should not be downgraded to such an extent that we frequently lose hundreds of lives in such events.
