Awareness on Medicines
Many of us are falling in health problems and in order to get remedy people going to different selections like siddha, homeo or english. In English medicines many of us trusting medical shops and going thru in depth of products whereas medical outlets have been pressurized to go as per doctor's prescription and using doctors as weapon manufacturers are cheating us. Attached two shots which will be self explanatory. One medicine namely telma (Glenmark manufacturer) started tablets in 30 tablets instead regular 10 and the expiry details are not much visible to consumers and if we will ask medical outlets to provide 10 tablets and each will not have prod name and expiry. Secondly this medicine used for BP and such product is not having the importance of providing with MRP, MFG and expiry with visibility and 10 tablets format??? I wont get reply from company hence put it here for solution. Next example Baush Lamb's renu lens which didnt have mrp, mfg and expiry in bold letters but in tiny letters. more

Let the pharmaceutical companies reduce the rate in the stripe, instead of the consumers getting it from the shop from the medicine store ranging from 10 to 20 percent. more

Asking for ingredients, expiry date to be printed in bold font on strips is a very pertinent request. With so many similar sounding and spelt brand names patients can easily be mislead. Pack size is increased or decreased to beat pricing controls. Anyway the buyer should insist on doctor's prescription specifics rather than go by the chemist's advise. more

Ramakrishnan it is good you took the trouble of posting the picture of an important medicine which is quiet widely prescribed for Hypertension. 2 ingredients Telmsartin and hydrochlorthiazide ingredients , the most important are completely submerged in the Company's G [advertising for for Glen mark ] featuring all over the strip. Even though I know the medicine , just now I was able to read the ingredients as i magnified the attachment. It is important to have the name of the company and the contact details ; not such advertising stuff which absolutely no use at all for the patient or doctor. So in addition to the details mentioned by Ramakrishnan IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE CONTENTS AND STRENGTH OF THE MEDICINE IN LEGIBLE READABLE LETTERS. S we should request Glenmark to remove the unwanted advertising material G from the strip. Hope local circles will take it up and stop this praactice by the other Pharma companies . more
