Bad mobile manners

I had two bad experiences today.

I went to see an eye doctor for consultation. In the consulting room, the doctor started examining my eye holding a light when she received a mobile call. She immediately stopped examining my eye and started speaking in the mobile and I noted that she was talking about some personal matter. I had to wait for ten minutes.

Immediately after seeing the doctor , I went to a bank to meet the bank manager to discuss certain matters. As I was discussing, the bank manager got a call and he started talking in his mobile phone for as long as 15minutes ,keeping me waiting. I heard that he was talking about his travel plans for a pilgrimage.

Have any one of you got such experience ?

I think bad mobile manners in working place is becoming the order of the day.

Yes, Mr. Venkataraman is absolutely correct. Nowadays people - even well educated-don't have sense how to use mobile. i have seen many using mobile while driving which is highly dangerous. I feel we should immediately advice them in a strong term then & there so that they at least understand their mistake. more
also I feel strong laws to be formulated for this more
What is stated by Mr. Venkataraman is true.People have no sense of duty and they consider attending a call more important than anything else. Cell Phones should be barred while duty. more
It is the attitude of the individual that showes up in his/her disrespect towards the customer. This should change. The person on attending the phone should tell the caller that he/she is busy with a customer and will call back after completing the business. more
This kind of deviation while attending to a patient or a customer, will definitely lose confidence on the doctor's consultation more
IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT WE INDIANS DO NOT HAVE SOME BASIC COMMON COURTESIES. WE TALK LOUD IN SMALL GET TOGETHERS : WE DO NOT SPEAK IN A LOW TONE IN A RESTAURANT: WE SPEAK VERY LOUD OVER A MOBILE PHONE IN A CROWDED BUS WITHOUT A CARE FOR THE NEIGHBOR: WE FIGHT IN A LOUD TONE INSIDE OUR HOMES WITHOUT BOTHERING ABOUT THE NOISE POLLUTION, WE CREATE FOR OUR NEIGHBOR: WE PLAY LOUD MUSIC IN OUR MARRIAGES WITHOUT BOTHERING ABOUT THE DISTURBANCE TO OUR IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORS...ETC, ETC..THE STORY GOES ON AND ON AND ON. THE TRAGEDY IS THAT OUR CHILDREN ARE ALSO FOLLOWING THE 'SAME' PATH.....!!.. ABOUT THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE DOCTOR AND THE BANK MANAGER - IT IS THE 'CARRY ON EFFECT' OF OUR OWN BEHAVIOUR STATED EARLIER..!!.. more
SELF DISCIPLINE LACKING ALMOST WITH EVERY ONE AND EVERY WHERE. NO COURTESY WHILE DISCUSSING OR EXAMINING TO GET A PERMISSION TO DEVIATE DEPENDIN UP ON THE SERIOUSNESS / URGENCY OF PHONE. NO SUCH ETHICS FOLLOWED IN ANY OF PROFESSION. QUITE COMMON TO OBSERVE SUCH ACT IN RATION SHOPS, TICKET COUNTERS, BANKS, E.B.OFFICES, OR ANY OTHER PUBLIC RELATED DEPARTMENTS. CLEARLY VISIBLE NO ACCOUNTABILITY. more
