Badly maintained vehicles on road
I have observed many badly or not maintained vehicles causing accidents and hazards on roads including loss of life.
So ones vehicle is not just a threat to own life but to others for no fault of theirs. Tires come off wheels or brakes failing due to now servicing are all common.
The govt should create a mandatory fitness check to be done each year like pollution check so all unfit vehicles have to go off road.
Can BIS create these standards?? more

Videocon as it's name suggests conned banks and customers. You can only approach local service centres. BIS can never ever get into looking after or arranging service to dead companies. It's not their job. All over the world, this is the same experience with dead company products. more

Can you rely on the Fitness Certificates/pollution under control bearing vehicles cranking and emitting so much smoke that you can judge the authenticity/ quality of the certificates. Until & unless we change our attitude and comply with the rules in letter and spirit, we are trying to promote corruption by recommending such measures. Further, this in not under the preview of BIS and we should try to address the problem to right authority otherwise what will happen-we all know more

In India safety is the last priority and hence people do not maintain their vehicle properly.While renewing annual insurance the insurance company can be assigned the task of checking basic fitness. more

Does the issue fall under the purview of the BIS? It has become a trend of now to demand for interference of the BIS in every right from cleanliness to health and so on though there are separate agencies to look after each of them. However, the issue referred to merits consideration of the concerned department. more

In delhi, GAS delivering VANs a are maintains very poorly and generating lots of Black smoke. Most of the delivery vans used by shop keepers and Weekly bazaar are badly maintained and overloaded. more
