Ban on plastics, extent of hypocracy and booming corruption
I am sure everyone has encountered a small shopkeeper being harassed by local authorities for keeping polybags, he is threatened and pushed to bribe or pay heavy fine on the use of plastic carry bag (30 micron thin), but no one has ever shown the courage to talk to any MNC or any other company about that, actually everything they send to the market is in plastic of different grades and of course none is biodegradable. IF you look into any shop you will find all plastic in different shapes, sizes and colors, be it milk, biscuit, namkeen, chips, water, cold drink, cereals, flours, pulses etc. etc. everything is packed in plastic, then why only poor shop keeper being penalized and forced to bribe??? more

Mr. Khan, I have experienced the same in Westside and Globus at Pacific mall. Everytime they charge for the bag saying that it is banned in UP. Even there are many outlets which charge for the paperbag as well. What to do except beleiving them?? more

Furthermore, there is another story hidden behind all this, just look at the big retailers.. be it big bazaar, auchan or any other, they have smartly started selling the carry bags for Rs. 5 initially and now 6-7 and even upto Rs. 45... They used to call these refundable, but have anybody tried to return it and seek their Rs. 5? try it and see the TAMASHA. Worst of it can be seen in the malls in ghaziabad, there the retailers are now SELLING plastic carry bags because they have sensed acceptability of the people to BUY carry bags and in UP there is no BAN. Dear Mr. Khan, I have been observing the same thing and indirect cancer agents are found in almost all the routine commodities like tooth paste, soft drinks and even vegetables !! I am in 100 % agreement with you but there must be some unified approach to take this issue. more
