I had 2 drafts issues by Kotak bank for Rs. 150 each. However. they were retrurned due to spelling mistake. I was levied Rs.116 per draft for cancellation(as the validity date was passed) and had to get fresh drafts issued. Altogether charges of Rs. 236 for drafts of Rs. 300! more
The profit of the Banks are getting reduced due to less number of anciliary services. Banks are required to survive for their existence. May be charges are more and needs to be reviewed, but the private sector banks are already imposing more charges than the PSBs and we are not complaining. more
Are these charges permissible. Do they charge actual cost or inflated prices for SMS more
recently i paid online for my LPG cylinder. As you are aware govt. has announced a discount of Rs. 5-00 on every cylinder if payment is made online. The value of cylinder is 760.55. while paying online the value gets reduced to 755.55 but when i actually went to the payment page, bank charges plus service tax took the final value to 763.55. so i actually paid more than Rs. 8 to get a discount of Rs. 5. why does the modi govt. want us to use digital payment when the charges are so high? its better to make cash payments even if it means we are generating black money. more
Govt. Must ensure that the amount should not be over that billed, especially in case where the biller is Govt. Departments like electricity company, railways etc. As cash transactions do not incurred such additional burden on the consuser. Need mechanism must be evolved. Sooner the better and JUSTIFIED. more
