Banks charging for sms sent to customers

RBI guidelines say that banks can charge as per actual cost and not lumpsum.

Some banks deduct annually from the customer accounts a fixed sum .(SBT)

Some banks deduct more than actual cost (UCO)

Some banks do not charge at all (IOB)

This is definitely violation of RBI guidelines more

PSU Banks have opened a number of ATMs and have also indulged in large scale computerization all round. There is no known list of appraisals made by individual Banks or by any independent authority to determine a) How much money have been invested in this Computerisation and b) what is the reduction in human resource effected to offset the investment in Computers...!!... Conversely, the human head count continues to increase in all Banks and the Unions are also a part of this conspiracy since a reduction in number of heads would directly affect their Union membership and hence clout. Many of the PSU banks are opening new branches in urban centers only and are reluctant to open Rural Centers since it does not fit their comfort levels. WHEN WILL THIS GOVT. LOOK AT THE MERGER OF ALL THE PSU BANKS INTO FEW ( say Six or Eight in number ) LARGE BANKS SO THAT, THEY CAN STAND UP TO THE MNC BANKS AND THE PRIVATE BANKS WHICH ARE FLOODING THE URBAN CENTERS AND SERVING THE CREAMY LAYERS ONLY AND EARN HUGE PROFITS..!!. more
bank Auditors are not smart enough or rules are not specific. we should take up the cases one by one. kindly do not hesitate thinking that it is your personal problem....it is problem of many. i think it is a paltry sum and wastage of money....in total it is a big money.
