Many banks have started a new business. They are going to schools, offices, residential societies/colonies and putting aadhar camp to Make Aadhaar or get you physical aadhaar card. In exchange they take your information.
Deploying frequent job changers in collection of information is risking the data. They do not have accountability. Before the data is handed over to the bosses it may be copied and used as they wish. One example. Every day I get 5 to 10 mails/calls which I have not subscribed. from where they got My email id/ mobile no. Earlier surveys used to be conducted to know the profile of the public to get target customers but now the ADHAR information can give lot of insights in to the profile of the public/customers/targets. Now information is money/ valuable commodity in the market. Needs to be handled with care. more
Do you have any specific reason to doubt about the honesty of the banks engaged in the campaign of preparation of Aadhar Cards? If so, please elaborate for the benefit of the members. Some members are continuously expressing their fears of disclosing their important data and diluting their rights to privacy in the event of linking the Aadhar for various purposes, but none of them have so far illustrated any such instances, which confirms that their fears are based on imaginations. more
UIDAI is the authorized agency for preparing the Aadhar cards. Why should another agency collect that data? Even our mobile numbers and information about our accounts are not safe with the banks. We receive plenty of calls from 'authorized' bank agents referring to any loan / investment in their banks. When checked with the banks, it is informed that they are indeed their agents. When their own data is not safe why should they be asked to something more? more
There is a bigger concern. All the bank employees have access to the customer data, their mobile numbers, addresses and most importantly the financial status. They are either selling this data to others or using the data when they change jobs. Do we have some remedy ? more
It is a matter of great concern that important data is being made available in bulk to may be unwanted people. Govt. should give serious thinking for suitable action to safeguard innocent people from mischievous attacks through e-system on them. more
