Banks harrassment
Now that Aadhar is not to be linked mandatorily to bank account what happens to all the harrassment people faced when their accounts were frozen for not linking aadhaar. 2 of my familys bank accounts are still defunct.
It is in banks interest to have many accounts is this status as they have more funds at their disposal this way.
I want to ask all in the circle, how do we go about ending this harrassment and get Govt to pass an order where these banks unfreeZe our accounts without Aadhaar kyc. more

Had any of your family members whose accounts were frozen approach the concerned Banks' branches to make their accounts active citing the Supreme Court judgement. Until this is done and the bank refuses to oblige, there is no justification in blaming the banks. For your information, the banks didn't act to freeze the accounts at their own but under directives of the government/RBI without choice. No commercial banks likes their customers' accounts to become defunct. It has become our habit to find faults in everything & every one excepting ourselves. more

When Govt itself is least bothered about common man hardships , banks take advantage of such Govt apathy. Now a days I have heard many cases of TDS being deducted in spite of people submitting Form G or H. TDS deducted at 20% instead of 10% saying " we have no records of your PAN or the PAN is registered wrongly . The earlier "Customer friendly attitude" of Banks is totally gone after Demonetization resulted in lot of money to the Banks more

I would suggest that (a) Whenever you submit 15 G/H, PAN Card or Aadhar Card copy to Bank, please get a receipt from the Bank on the duplicate copy of your letter (b) VERY VERY IMPORTANT - If your fixed deposit matures and is renewed, manually or automatically, during anytime of the year, you need to submit 15G/H again for the renewed deposit even if you had submitted it earlier before the maturity date, otherwise TDS will be deducted. (c) When you submit 15G/H, you need to fill up the relevant fields, most important of which is the estimated total income of yourself for the financial year. Many of the senior citizens leave the fields blank and it may constitute a ground for rejecting the form 15G/H. Of course, the Bank people should also accept the form only if it is filled up satisfactorily. more

ONLY BENAMI ACCOUNTS IN THE NAMES OF NON EXISTING PERSONS AND GHOSTS WERE FROZEN. WHO WILL ALLOW ANY GENIUN ACCOUNT TO BE FROZEN. IN PLACE OF AADHAR NUMBER THEY WILL ASK FOR OTHER DOCUMENTS TO ENSURE YOU ARE NOT A GHOST. EVEN IF YOU ESCAPE WITH BANKS, BUT STILL AADHAR IS MANDATORY FOR INCOME TAX COMPLIANCE/RETURN FILING. THIS YEAR THERE WAS 70% INCREASE IN NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS FILING IT RETURN. I AM SURE MORE PEOPLE WILL JOIN NEXT YEAR AS THE USE AND CIRCULATION OF BLACK MONEY IS FURTHER RESTRICTED. more

I am sure all the PSB banks will do, but HDFC will certainly not do. They are already charging for GST when the basic amount is refunded on a plea that once levied the same cannot be refunded. Their Chairman who claims to be a " Pillar of Ethics " , has certainly faied in this and the bank is making a few crores per week. more
