Banning HFSS foods in UP Schools
Per Kekin Furia in connected consumer circle, In Maharashtra, the state School Education department on imposed a ban on sale of High in Fat, Salt and Sugar (HFSS) Food better called as Junk Food in School Canteens across the state from Monday. The same thing should be done in Uttar Pradesh under new CM.
In a Government Resolution (GR) issued on Monday, the state government of Maharashtra issued a broad list of 12 items ranging from Potato Chips, Noodles, Carbonated Soft Drinks, Pizza, Burger, Cakes, Biscuits, Buns, Pasteries and other such items that contain high levels of fat, salt, and sugar. As against this School Canteens will henceforth have to sell items like Rotis made of wheat, vegetable pulav, idli-vada, coconut water, jaljira and other 20 items. more
