Banning of DG sets for residential societies is not enforceable

There was this attached news in yesterdays paper that DG sets from Oct 15 will only be permitted for lifts and emergency svcs in residential societies in Delhi and NCR.

Who comes up with such random rules. My parents stay in ghaziabad in a society. They are old and using medical equipment which is electricity dependent. If power goes then they should be off the device. In UP power supply is not as reliable as Delhi.

Will the pollution dept of ghaziabad go to every society and each flat to ensure only lifts are using power and no medical patient is using it.

Once again who is making these rules without consultation.

Why is there no local circles polls on this? Why our adminsitrators can only come up with bans. The world is not black and white its grey. more

Such random rules only lead to harassment and bribes. However there is certainly going to be a timeline for RWAs to shift to alternate fuel based gen sets. power situation in NCR is not the same as Delhi. Due to such gensets people don't need to install inverters in their home. thus Lakhs of homes does not pollute the environment through inverter batteries. more
I agree that NOTHING can be banned for use in an EMERGENCY. more
The authorities should make arrangement for 24*7 or some other arrangement and should not come out with such policies without consultation/public opinion and take into account the genuine hardships more
Agree with you Aarti - this is a serious issue - maybe you can send this representation of your with all our support to the Pmo And environment ministry. more
I agree. Such blanket bans are only causing inconvenience and problems for residents within NCR. There would be no such requirement if our services of power supply we're uninterrupted 365 days, 24x7!!! Which is not the case.....during power breakdowns and power grid/local maintenance works, there's no power at times for half of the day!!? more
