Changing times, Technologies are making Life a bit hard. Auto Drivers who haven't upgraded themselves to Uber( 4 Wheelers) have competition from Sharing Rick as also E-Rickshaws which has dented their earnings. Except Summer Time when the auto ride is still a bearable option, we have Uber(Sharing) which halves the Auto fare to 1/4th the charge of Autorickshaw. There is no night time fares for Uber/Ola. Working in Noida, I see the poor Cycle Rickshaw Drivers eyeing prospective customer who come down the overbridge...it would be a great job even if they get 2-3 customers a day whereas the shared E-Rick takes 5 passengers (@ Rs.10/- each to farthest distances).We thus have Unproductive labor in this segment too. more
