Many people are not aware that actual time alloted to sleep in sleeper coach is from 10 PM to 6 AM. They think that berth is alloted to them and they can sleep at any time. This is causing lot of discomfort to other passengers who want to sit on lower bench. Even educated people who are travelling in AC compartments are also not aware which leads to heated argument. Earlier this information was clearly displayed in each compartment naer to emergency chain. Now this is not available atleast in AC compartment. So I think this should be started for awareness and to avoid bitterness in passengers. more
As per Reservation Rules : When berths are reserved for passengers, the intention is to provide sleeping accommodation between 9 PM to 6 AM. During 6 AM to 9 PM, the passengers concerned, if required make room for other passengers in compartment up to its carrying capacity. The Railway Administration will endeavour to provide reserved accommodation but does not guarantee the same and will admit no claim for compensation for inconvenience, loss or extra expense due to such accommodation including carriages, not being provided or reserved carriage not been attached to a particular train. The supply of any particular type of carriage or the provision of a particular berth and seat is also not guaranteed. more
Yes You are Right. At the same time there should be display, informing No one should sit after 10.00PM and making noise over, which disturbs the elderly people. I have witnessed many times people travel in group and least bothered about the co-passengers. more
