Better off before TRAI rules implementation

Firstly we don't have a clear picture as to which 100 channels are provided in the basic fee of Rs. 130. There are no useful channels. Then we have to go for the combo packs which range from Rs 230 to Rs 500. And on top of that then again ad on packs and bouquets adding again an average of Rs 100. So a decent viewer is billed at least Rs 400 + taxes per month which earlier was costing around Rs 300 pm. E.g previously my monthly charges were Rs 530 pm which has now become Rs 750 pm even after compromising on most of the paid channels I was getting earlier. So with TRAI rules all the consumers, irrespective of service providers, are charged more than before TRAI. That's exactly opposite of what TRAI had boasted. Consumer should be given the flexibility to make his pack of individual channels as per standard rates. Moreover DTH providers should send a comparative quote (before and after TRAI) to each consumer listing out all the channels that were available to the consumer before TRAI. I guess by this itself you will be able to get the picture of TRAI abuse to consumers. more

Many a times you will like to see certain channels say during Election of a particular state, any significant activity of particular type during specified period and many a things like that. How do we justify for this? From the experience so far from users it is a fact that for same stuff new rates are going to be higher. more
Attached please find the press release from TRAI and understand the system. more
Everyone are not having access to the internet. Hence the service providers should supply the list of channels, which are free and which are to be paid. The rates needs to be mentioned. more
NCF is for cable operator GST is for Govt Channel price is for broadcaster To keep these three people/organisation healthy, all TV viewer need to pay on monthly basis. more
This is correct. I am trying to get my selected channels since Jan end, have sent so many emails to Videocon together with TRAI but no resolution. TRAI is not even responding. If they cannot implement a rule, they should not come up with new Rules. The idea behind this rule is not to force anyone to see any channels, then why 100 FTA channels are being forced on consumers of DTH choice. We don't want we should have option to remove any free channels and add either free or paid channels. This is frustrating and this gives no help or choice to consumers but it is being forced on us. There has to be nation wide agitation against these agencies who are crating so much of problems to consumers!!! more
