Better Traffic management - suggestions
1-In view of slowing of traffic specially during peak hours , four wheelers with bigger bodies, bigger fuel tanks can accelerate better and there will be less pollution if separate lanes are ear marked for slower moving two or three wheelers.
2-Heavy vehicles including tankers,concrete mixers,freight loaded trucks ,big size passenger buses must not use fly overs as the life of fly over is reduced by 50% due to wear and tear by weight. Longevity of expensive fly overs can be ensured.
3-Separate lanes for bicycles in dedicated stretches
Like high tech city, tank bund,Charminar,all tourist sites can be tried. Wearing of helmets and lighting of bicycles and wearer jackets during night time must be insisted during night times ( similar to western countries)
4-Gradual withdrawal of two stroke vehicles from roads and immediate ban on polluting vehicles must be ensured.
5-Radiolucent road side markers, dividers,boards, railings of flyovers is a must for night time safety.
6- volunteers during week ends from public to help police in traffic management . more

1) More awareness programs has to be conducted. The government should encourage people to use cycles and a separate lane should be earmarked for this. 2)They should also encourage and promote electric vehicles. 3) Stricter punishment should be enforced if people disobey traffic rules. 4) Lane system should be followed strictly. 5) Separate lanes should be marked for 2,3,4 and 6 wheelers and also cycles. 6) Licenses should not be given very easily. 7) The timings of the traffic signals should be rechecked during peak hours. Right now its the same during early morning and also during peak hours and also during midnight. I feel this should be checked and adjusted according to the traffic flow. 8) Action should be taken against people who are parking haphazardly and also on bus drivers who stop in the middle of the road instead of bus stops. 9) There should be a cap on number of vehicles sold in our city every year. 10) Connectivity of metro should be made better so that people travelling by it increases. Also the bus number of RTC buses should be reduced where the metro connectivity is there. This will encourage the people to use the metro service instead of buses. 11) Lastly the roads should be maintained well for the easy flow of traffic. Many deaths are occurring because of badly maintained roads. Even when the roads are repaired It is only being done in patches. These are my suggestions for easy flow of traffic in our city. more

More Awareness programs, Introduce Lane driving by doing Road widenings, Wide foot paths and Zebra crossings for pedestrians all over the city. Lazer guns within the city roads as well along with all National high ways. Strict punishments for violating the rules should be done without any mercy in order to decrease Road accidents. more

It is high time concerned Minister, Municipality and Police seriously think it is no more small town Hyderabad - It needs sincere planning to manage Traffic in this city. more

Extreme right lane should be earmarked for office going vehicles, ambulances single driver driven vehicles etc which are followed in US. Exclusive lane for two wheelers should be earmarked as this segment only responsible for jam as they always create and overtake on both left and right lanes. more
