Beware of imported pulses
The FSSAI has issued attached order. Apparently Australian moong dal and Canadian masoor dal contains high residues of Glyphosate.
If anyone has any idea on what brands or retail chains import these dals from Canada and Australia, please share.

The main problem is ,like all government regulating body ,FSSAI has a set of rules and guidelines.But FSSAI is not enforcing this in practice. If FSSAI enforces the food processors or food importers and distributors ( in reality this applies to all food handlers upto retail sellers, storage godowns and transporters) this type of incidents will recur ( with utmost impunity). The most sad point is FSSAI is, FSSAI have to start with governmental PDS system ( FOR RATION USE ) and as of now this is next to impossible. Even a small visit to any PDS godown will expose the extent of rodent menace, spoilage, worst storage , spillage, no medical records for the handlers ( mostly on daily wages on contract),no temperature or humidity control ( 100 % ignorance of all aspects for which FSSAI stands for).One visit to a PDS godown worth more than any book on ill keeping and ill handling of food items.In all these above scenario , public support or co-operation is practically non existent or not required. the worst part is, much of these items find way illegally to many nearby hotels or restaurants run by political bigwigs more

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND, 'WHY, YOU ARE TRYING TO DEFEND FSSAI.?. IT IS THE DUTY OF FSSAI TO ENSURE THAT 'NO PULSES, IMPORTED INTO THE COUNTRY CONTAIN, GLYPHOSATE'..!!.. FSSAI SLEPT IN THEIR A/c CHAMBERS AND ALLOWED THE CONTAMINATED PULSES TO ENTER INDIA..!!..WHERE DID THEY 'TRY THEIR BEST' IN THEIR JOB...!!!.. more
