I was in charge of booth management in both assembly elections in Delhi and the recent Lok Sabha elections and have contacts deep inside UP an partly Bihar also. The real story of this election is the story of how 71/80 was got in UP and an equally devastating figure in Bihar. The true story is this --- RSS cadres with bags full of cash supplied by Mukesh Ambani/RELIANCE through Amit Shah (who bypassed the usual BJP hierarchy because he did not trust them as honest) went to almost each and every household in remote villages and paid cash on the spot. That is who in a state where the BJP had died almost ten years back, there was ensured a revival. Also in western and central UP and Haryana where there is a big Hindu jat/Rajput population the Muzzafarnagar riots had its lingering impact and Amit Shah made the most of that advantage by making comments like in "this day and age you take revenge through votes and not through swords". VERY SOON A BIG REVEALATION IS COMING - we in the AAP (UP unit mainly) have managed to persuade some villagers to come before the world and reveal how their votes were bought with hard cash. It is possible Mukesh Ambani whose financial net worth is nearly 5 lakh crores did not spend only 10000 crores but may be much much more. more

The Samajwadi Party's decision to replace its candidate from Lucknow, Ashok Bajpai, with a relatively "lighter" leader is the best case to understand the secret understanding between the SP and the BJP for the high-profile constituency. In a surprise move, the SP replaced Bajpai, whose candidature from the seat was announced nearly a year ago and who had a strong presence in the city, with Abhishek Mishra, a state minister believed to be close to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. BJP chief Rajnath Singh had to win at any cost. He left the Ghaziabad seat and moved to Lucknow. Reason: All the surveys clearly proved he is badly loosing here. Lucknow was no easy seat for him as well. One cannot even imagine what amount SP was offered. Rest expenditures are apart. more
