Bills in Parliament in monsoon season
The agenda for legislation in the session, which ends on August 11, includes 18 bills for consideration and passing. Key among them are the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, Whistleblowers' Protection Bill, Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, Enemy Property (Amendment) Bill Consumer Protection Bill, and the Companies (Amendment) Bill. — The Admiralty Bill, 2016: Consolidates the existing laws on civil matters of Admiralty jurisdiction of courts, Admiralty proceedings on maritime claims and arrest of ships.

— The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016: Proposes that illegal migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan from specified religious groups will be eligible to apply for Indian citizenship.
— The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013: Modifies the definition of taking a bribe. Requires prior sanction to investigate officials.
