bis and consumer participation

its a good approach to improve quality which effects consumer more than manufacturer.till now, only memebers of industries were involved ,who favoured their interests openly, but fron this new approach, how much consumer suffers, will come in notice of BIS. Further products sold on line should be BIS marked compulsorily .
WARRANTY or life of product also should be decided . generally traders, shopkeepers say that when man has no guarantee of life, how these things? it should be stopped.
on medicines( tabletsand others) expiry date is sufficient but on more places should be written .every time, we dont purchase full packet, but 4 or 6 tabs, we dont have expiry on that. more

Yes Correct point. more
A good and valid point. Let the expiry date is printed in more than one place. more
There is a rule that no electrical gadget , without IS: XXXXX marked (X's denote relevant numerals) , can be sold in the market. Few years ago, there had been several raids on the shops to weed out such sub-standard (often life-threatening) gadgets. Due to reason(s) whatsoever, such drives have become only history, and presumably, to be found only in the archives in the offices of News Papers/Publishers. more
I agree with Sri Rana about the substandard products in hardware and electrical fields. I bought a 110 volts to 220 volts converter to use American electrical product but it just got heated up and melted in three attempts of use ,the shop keeper says we can’t guarantee our electrical products. ! more
Majority of electrical/hardware items being supplied in the market are sub standard and do not carry BIS mark/number what to talk about consumables. Many of such items carry fake FASSAI/BIS/Mnfg./drug licence number etc. No is no effective authority in India to check the quality and efficacy of eatables. There is need to fix the responsibility of respective Regulators to enforce check on quality of products being sold in the market to hapless consumers. more
