Sorry. BIS is a standard framing authority. The testing has be done in laboratories only. more
Yes you are right. If some one wants to get their product approved and get BIS certificate then only they test n give particular BIS certificate. No where in the world such certificate is taken by any water supply company or council.

Moreover, there are many loop holes in the system the packed water supply companies are required to print nutritional values on it but never right about other hazardous chemicals or pesticides ,either totally absent or what maximum ppm are there. Like fluoride, cyanide, phosphites etc;

Wow, kya apana system has? more

There is a Nanotechnology based water purification equipment ready to be launch in India , its a best suited POU NanoMesh WPE operates with zero wastage of Water and No power requirements . Please find here the BSS NanoMesh WPE product catalogue more
Good, but our risk taking ability or to try new technology is very weak n by the time we adopt it, something new come up. Moreover , all municipal water plants are using the mix of mostly traditional purification like pressure send filter, lime and alumn beds plus poly-synthetic resins n lastly chlorination , only lacking is proper monitoring ,casual approach of authorities n on time checking of water quality, that is it's potability standards. From season to season the intake water quality of intake either from river or lakes or ground waters changes n depending on it the purification filtration parameters to be changed.

Though all public health laboratories manatorily checks water quality but by the time reports are available people have already consumed it .

Any technology or world best technology we may use, but the water supply systematic in n age old pipings, pumps nerds to be replaced n no drinking water pipes should be along with swear lines . That is most important. Which is grossly neglated all over.

As a result the packed water business has flourished n reach up to multi millions rupees.

Like the environment ministries monitoring of Air Quality index a similar Water quality index nerds to be framed n must be displayed on each junction of areas on LED display. more

Every Neta is worried about his pay/perks/pension. There is dire need to control population and make all out efforts by all Sate Governments to provide safe drinking water. The funds required for this mission should be saved by curtailing wasteful expenditure and not by imposing fresh taxes/cess. more
