700 shlokas cannot be crammed by even the best of students. But the common set of values and principles can be summarized and taught in a crisp way. And that I agree will be a challenge for whoever writes/finalizes the textual content of the subject book. more

A Hindu agenda cannot be achieved by making Holy Books mandatory. Rather, - The principles and values laid in Bhagwad Geeta should be summarized and explained in English, Hindi and Sanskrit. This is where the real challenge maybe. - Hindi should be mandatory until 12th. - Sanskrit should be a mandatory until 10th. - All other languages should be optional and not mandatory. Or these can be taught as optional electives. - No remarks should be made by ANYONE favoring any community. - Reservations (SC/ST/OBC/Muslim/Hindu/...) should be abolished. At least a majority central/state government should work in the right direction with freedom. I understand that a mandate like we saw recently in Delhi would have helped at national level, but still at least some steps in the right direction can be attained. more
