However, although everyone agrees, not everyone gives and that includes me too. I have donated blood a few times only and although I think it is a great way of giving back to society something in return for what we have received from society, sometimes there are doubts about the syringe quality, fear of contaimnation etc, it would be good, if some member can share some thoughts on how to ensure that when we go for blood donation, what are the things we should be aware of so as not to be worried. more
so far as giving back to society is concerned ,it is a really good thing.I have devoted my free time in detecting breeding sites of all mosquitoes & even dengue mosquitoes so that people donot suffer from various ill effects of mosquitoes like dengue ,chicken gunya, malaria etc.The very important observation which all should know is that all mosquitoes breed in water which we donot easily see/donot breed in garbage without water or on greenery without water .Also all come out of the breeding place in the evening. The larger the breeding ,larger is the number of adult mosquitoes of all types seen coming out.I have seen crores coming out of big site .See at you tube vimal171954 For more pictures write at aggarwaldrvk@gmail.com Dr vk aggarwal a-7 east of kailash more
I am a regular donor for last 7 years. Just keep in mind following things when u opt to donate:- 1) Gap between 2 donations should be 3 months 2) If you have got a tattoo done donate blood only after an year of getting tattoo. 3) You should not have consumed liquor in last 24 hours. 4) you must not be contaminated with any disease or you are not a carrier of any blood carried disease. 5) Just check before donation that all instruments used before are seal packed (sterilised). However I totally agree with Vikas that things have changed in last few years. I have started feeling secured. more
Dear Vikrant, Gone are the days when blood Donation was suspected of these things. Now a days things are so well maintained that even an uneducated donor can be rest assured of the safety etc. Now a days, Following things are observed at all the blood donation camps :- 1) New Needle for testing haemoglobin of the donor 2) Their Blood Pressure 3) Use of new Donor packs - which are non reusable 4) Clean environment under the guidance of doctor 5) Blood is collected by trained persons and properly stored in cold containers etc There are strict guide lines for each and every activity even for disposal of waste. So please be rest assured and donate freely. further, I really don't get the point as to where the use of syringe comes to play...??? more
