Booking Befor 4 Months

Dear all
Booking open before 4 Months is the wrong decision taken in the budget. as very difficult to plan accurate for 4 months. and we need to book 2 to 3 days Tickets for Our Reservation as the Dates of Travelling / occasion are not fixed before 4 months. and we have pay cancellation charges for other / extra tickets. Railway is block our money for 4 month and earn cancellation charges too. instead of 4 month they need to open advance booking before 30 days so the cancellation will be less and traveler save some money and Time. more

Yes it is very difficult to plan 4 months in advance therefore people will more than one reservations of different probable dates resulting in long waiting list for a person who need to travel before 2 or 3 months. If other persons do cacellation then one have to wait for confirmation upto last hours till the final chart preparation. It will be a very bad situation. As long as touts- concern they donot book any ticket in advance because of the need of original I card of the passenger. They do there job by 1. setting with reservation clerks 2.hecking of IRCTC online site. Right way is to do only one month advance reservation and to control reservation clerks and IRCTC software persons. more
The counter point is that touts can be reduced as they don't want money blocked for 4 months. more
I strongly object to booking opening beyond 2 months. It is very difficult to plan 4 months in advance and railways will make money in cancellations .. more
It is a good way to ensure Indians develop advance planning and also to ensure some measure of revenue to the Railways. It is a wise move of the Railway Minister. Those who do not want to book so much in advance can always not do so. more
Booking/ Reservation before 120 days was previously proved to be not convenient both to the Railway as well as to the passengers. more
