Boycott standard chartered bank

The entire bank's servers have been down since yesterday, not just online banking, but you cannot even use your debit/credit cards, nor withdraw money from the ATM.

Why are there no penalties on banks when this happens. Why are there no stringent standards by RBI?? more

Does such incidents happen at the bank at regular intervals? If not, your call to boycott the bank for sudden failure of their system is unjustified as also uncalled for. Such incidents are not unusual and are of temporary nature and all concerned are expected to bear with. more
SCB is in a very bad shape. So much so that they send at least two SMS messages to their account holders everyday. more
There are good number of banks in any locality. You may prefer another standby Bank to meet your requirements. For failure of internet service, we can not boycott any bank. more
It would be very interesting to know how the author selected this bank among 12 Indian Government owned banks and 21 private banks. Is it proximity? Can't be almost all banks have "online banking". Ease of getting services? No.( see the current problem). This is a bank having head quarters in London not in India. 1200 branches, in 70 countries employing over 87,000 people. I returned back to India in 1996 and since I had an account with S&C abroad I continued here in India too.in exactly one year and two months I walked in to their branch on MG Road, Bengaluru, stood up on the reception desk and cut the credit and debit card and threw it on the face of Relationship Manager. The service was so pathetic and the employees drawing comparatively better salary did not even bother ordinary customer. Then my colleagues and few friends told me some people boast having an account with S&C as a prestigious among social circles. Then tell me one bank where customer is treated as a human being? more
