Bribery to Bureaucrats and Politicians

One of the most common ways companies, Builders, Businessmen bribe Bureaucrats Politicians Doctors and any others on the receiving end is to buy an expensive vehicle and give it to them for use.

After a year or 2 a 20 lakh vehicle is sold to them for 2 lakhs. 2 lakhs of course is given to them in cash by the giver and the bribe receiver writes a cheque to them as genuine buyer.

Something should be done by tax department to investigate such transactions and book these thieves under tax and anti-corruption law. more

I feel that such type of bribing is feasible if not rampant and the Government must give it a thought. more
Who are the real thieves is such cases is to be decided first ! In general, its a fact that the the entities, such as builders, business men etc. as mentioned in the post generally bribe the bureaucrats/ politicians and other government officials and employees with the ulterior motives of flouting the rules and procedures as well as to get higher prices for their sub-standard products without any resistance from any quarter. By bribing they earn 100 times of what they spent on bribing. Hence, booking only the bureaucrats/govt. employees won't serve any purpose. more
I had given a suggestion to the P.M. Mr Modi to pass a law making all financial transactions above Rs 100 to be done only via POS machines. Every citizen and shop shall keep a tiny POS machine. A good software can be developed by IT professionals to link each transaction with the PAN Card of the individulas concerned. This is tha best way to stop corruption. But there seems to be no desire to eradicate corruption root and branch.Sigh! more
Rs.100.....????? Do you mean to say buying a litre of petrol should be accounted for? Or buying fruits and a good number of veggies / daals / oils / medicines should also be accounted for...??? This is not to talk of hundreds of other items priced over 100 that one uses in day-to-day life..... more
What Ms Grima Sharma has stated is true, but it is extremly difficult to get any one involved in such cases punished. A few years back a chief Minister of a state was presented a car worth crores of Rupees by a spurious drugs exporters. But the matter could not see the light of the day or any action could be taken against the exporter despite the fact that a foreign agency and the CBI had come to know about it. Even in well known places of corruption like Office of Registrar for property registration it has not been possible to stop or curtail corruption. Out side the registrar office there are CCTV cameras installed but one does not know if they work. Even for giving themb impression on property papers one is expected to pay. The person who directs the party where to put impression is not a regular employee of the Registrar Office but an outsider hand in gloves with the staff. The signing officer of the office has his own tricks to use to harass the party who comes after taking due appointment for the job. more
Wow. Thank you for educating us how to bribe bureaucrats. doctors, Politicians and Purchase Managers and all and sundry. May be I should start with a bicycle for the son or daughter and slowly move up to a RR. I recommend the author to be appointed as Consultant or Advisor to Anti-Corruption department to improve the efficiency. Good. I learned how to get corrupted and corrupt others. more
