A decade ago people's preference was to go for a new car and other gadgets of lower segments but today the trend is just reversed. Our preference is for a luxurious ones even if it is beyond our financial capacity, we don't mind to borrow from various market sources easily available. On doing that we start cursing the government and other agencies for high cost of fuel, insurance etc. The auto industries have made a policy to increase the prices of vehicles regularly at periodical intervals, so is the case of electronic items. The prices of TV sets have been increased by three to five thousand rupees per set during the last quarter. But none of us had any problems to meet with such extra cost nor it was made a national issue. Then why there is so hue & cry as and when there is any increase in fuel prices ? Have we ever come a cross of any news claiming that selling of automobiles and other luxury items has come down owing to high petrol prices! Prices in real estate is going up every day and despite that the industry is in boom. So is the case in respect of automobile and other industries. As regards to the prices of tomato, which market you are talking about! At our place it is sold at Rs.30 - Rs.40 a KG, onion@Rs.30-Rs.35 and potato@Rs.20 a KG. more
All petroleum products including petrol & diesel should be brought under GST. This is the only solution. more
Central and State governments are spending recklessly with the extra income from GST and excise duty. They do not want to compromise, even if the public suffers. more
One way to ease fuel's high-cost pain is to conserve by using other means of transportation whenever possible. If that is not possible, one can adjust expenses accordingly; one can find many frivolous expenses to cut/eliminate. If nothing is possible, pay up the high fuel cost. more
Great, 'Madam Anshu'.Please ask every educated person to watch the Proceedings of COP 26. And If the citizens are having a say against the "Climate Action groups" It serves a lot. more
