Dear Sir, We hv been travelling By 1AC several times & our suitcase, hand bags & material inside has been damaged by RODENT several times. This was very disgusting to happen in the 1AC. Sir, I have been travelling in Southern, South western Railways frequently in 3 Tier & 2 Tier A/C . We don't confront with Rodent problems these days.
And cockroaches and bugs are also not much reported .As there is a fairly and honest Periodic pesticide program adopted . The dates of pest control work is also recorded in a paper stuck .
It will be good to pin point the train that you travelled where you had this problem . That will be easy for the administrators to follow up. more

So far I have not encountered such instances during any of my train journeys in the past but as per the posts of many of the circle members, trains of several parts of the nation are infested with bugs & insects due to various reasons, such as, leaving the coaches at sidings without cleaning, deploying of coaches, lying at yards for longer periods un-cared for, into service without proper cleaning and carrying appropriate anti-insect treatment and so on. The railways authorities should initiate stern action against the concerned authorities in such cases. more

It is the duty of the Railways to offer a clean compartment before it is shunted to the Platform and Customers entrain. Like wise while the train is empty , it should e thoroughly cleaned Pesticide sprayed before it goes to the Yard, the place of Creation, nurturing and proliferation. more

So far no effective steps have been taken to control pest, improving toilet conditions, sanitizing toilets properly in train no-14215/14216. The condition is worst in this train. Even TTE is taking bribe openly from the Passengers without ticket. more

Reasons for insects in trains is the hutment around the yard where trains stop/park , overnight. In Bandra East (Mumbai), there is such hugh hutment area mostly populated by poor muslims that neither Rlys nor Municipality do anything about illegal huts. Keep sorroundings of stations & Yards clean & open more
