Builders charging earler VAT and service tax now as GST. There is no calarity on what amount the GST is taxable. And there are no way for the Investors to check on their how much the tax collector pay the tax to GOVT. Most of the Builders not disclosing or giving any proof of tax paid to GOVT. more

Any individual or group of individual(s), whether small or super-jumbo, refusing to give "appropriate receipt" should get a permanent tag of economic offender and there name and other particulars UIDAi and PAN should remain irrevocably published. more

What about the service tax paid by investor under Construction Link Plan to Govt. through builder against the property if a person can get ITC against GST . more  
Builder developer have to bifurcate the relevant details else RERA, Consumer Act provisions attracts. more  
The builder will have to pay GST to the govt., if he wants to claim set-off on the ITC (Input Tax Credit) paid on the raw materials used for construction like cement, steel etc. Further, if the purchase value is paid in cheque, the builder should issue tax invoice which shows the GST charged. Since the builder will get full input tax credit, the taxes paid on the raw material should not be part of the cost of the flat/house. As the amount of tax set-off is not visible, this will not be known to the buyer. It is hoped that the market forces will play a role to bring down the cost of flats/houses and the GST benefits will be passed on to the buyers. more
