Bullet Trains?

Who wants bullet trains. Let the existing trains, run on time, be well maintained, clean coaches, upgrade the tracks, bridges, clean the stations first. Maintain what we have first and then look at other things.
Have you heard of rats biting passengers on trains, well thats a common occurrence on Southern Railway. more

Agreed with all the posts here... No one is in a hurry to go from anywhere to anywhere...!! IF someone is in real hurry they can take flights... So Bullet Trains are an invitation for more disasters - God Forbid...!! We are not attitude wise prepared to handle the dedication and maintenance standards needed for Bullet Train Infra...!! The concept of Bullet Train is more of making a Global Point rather than a Local Utility Point...!!! Let all the money, that's supposed to go in Bullet Trains, go into re-enforcing the existing railway network... Do away with Sleeper Class System... Make all coaches AC...!! AC coaches is a must for Indian Conditions where average Temperatures are high...!! So public comfort will be enhanced by AC coaches rather than having faster Bullet Trains...!!! more
The Fare of the bullet trains would be more or less same as Air. so ppl would prefer Air rather than Bullet trains. so bullet train is not of priority now. first and foremost would be to have railway gates at all railway crossings and well monitored , cleanlines of railways & platforms, frequent refilling of water at major stations in compartments. There should be a way to reach the guard (may be one fixed phone) in two / three compartments so that we can talk to him on need basis. more
Dear all While agreeing with your inputs I would like to add that none of your suggestions are viable unless each and every commuter, vendor, visitor, official, worker treat trains and stations as their own and use them with self discipline whatever the governments spend for development will go down the drains and will not fructify more
Yes, improve the present trains that running, make the station clean, make the food hyginic then think of bullet trains more
