1. Buses cater to a very large number of people
2. Most state Buses are of old technology
3. Roads are in bad condition and are too crowded
4. Buses are cleaned only once every day
5. There are no dustbins in the buses
6. There is a lack of sense for cleanliness in the passengers
7. Buses are a very cheap mode of transport
8. Maintenance of busses is not up to the mark at all
9. Bus drivers are not well trained and don’t have the respect for road rules nor passengers
10. Lack of safety and security features in the buses
11. Bus drivers work in very tough conditions
12. Drivers who commit accidents are easily allowed to drive again
13. Drivers run based on commission, hence they rush driving to get more passengers.

State of Bus Transportation in India - Key Issues

1. Public buses are very dirty
2. Bus transport is non-reliable
3. Fleet is small and one needs to wait a long time to catch a bus
4. Busses break down very frequently
5. Seats are uncomfortable
6. Bus drivers drive rash and jump traffic signals
7. Accidents are a frequent phenomenon in state buses running between towns/villages
8. Drivers and conductors are rude to passengers
9. Daily passengers don’t get the change back from the conductor due to shortage of it
10. There are no set time schedules that a bus follows
11. Commuters waiting on the stands have no clue when the next bus would come
12. The bus stands are very unorganized
13. A lot of buses don’t even stop on every stand
14. Bus drivers race with each other and cause accidents
15. Many bus drivers are untrained and some drive without a commercial driving license
16. Lost or stolen luggage is a common sight inside the buses
17. Many times, buses get overloaded and carry double the number of passengers than it is allowed
18. It is almost impossible to make an advance booking on the public transport buses
19. Many buses are not physically fit and cause huge pollution
20. Bus transportation is not senior citizen friendly
21. Buses lack a toilet facility, unlike the European buses. more

in india corruption is main issue ,unless property of corrupt people is auctioned in very fast track,corruption wont stop ? more  
in counrty,those guilty,how they are given bail ? are they entitle for this type of treatment,and those affected are required to cry for justice and law and order.why ? more  
First people of country,are required to be swachh,then country will be autiomacally also swachh ? more  
Govt busses can have a plan to run the busses to the nearest railway stations only and local railways and busses should have common passes for the public. This was currently running in foreign countries. We may implement it for better environment and better savings both public and government. more  
1) State Transport buses are mostly 7-8 years old or more with an odometer reading 8 to 9 lakh kilomerters. 2) State transport is very costly than railways. more
