Campaign to lower RT-PCR costs

As Omicron is more transmissible more and more people will need RT-pcr tests and 900 for home sample collection is still pretty expensive for common people.

Maharashtra govt has further slashed the cost of RTPCR tests. A home collection of swab will now cost Rs 700 down from the existing Rs 800. Collection from the lab will now cost Rs 350 from the Rs 500 it costs now. Price for anti-body tests, antigen test too has been reduced.

Can LocalCircles run a campaign like last year and get this down to 500 for home collection. Lot of poor unwell people may decide to take the test with that price point. Lab collection should be 300. I think the test kit last year was some 200 rupees. Happy to be corrected by those who have knowledge of this. more

Yes, pharma industry makes a killing. If not, how online pharmacies can give 25% discount & plus. Same is the case with RT-PCR test charges. Now US is insisting for 24 hour RT-PCR test report and labs fleece pathetic international travellers. Government please wake up more
Good Business model. It will generate lot of employment in near future. Vaccine manufacturer will try to impose the extra dosages So Pharma Companies will be in boost mode. But till RTPCR test Kit efficiency is under question. The Person who is normal showing + ve in test , but without any symptoms ??? It is wondering . more

Yes it should be. Also for international travellers why charge them the cost so high. On one hand they spend money to get the test done before departure and then again on arrival. Why repeat test? Are they not validating the authenticity of the foreign test certificate? The requirement is 72 hrs. So till the time the time limit has not expired, it should be entertained. more
It should be affordable by common man hence lower cost is recommended. more
