Can borderline sugar people have Banana Shake

My husband is borderline and he doesn't have any milk intake (can't handle plain milk). Since we are pure vegetarians, I give him banana shake few times a week. Is that ok or is there a better way for him to get milk/calcium daily requirement? more

He can take banana shake but yes what Dr saumya said is right that it should not be a habbit...try to be innovative if the taste or smell of milk is a matter of concern...do share the levels of his sugar for more precision more
I am not a medical professional, but after reading Dr Saumya's comment, I wonder how come a person who cannot handle plain milk may take banana-shake.........a concoction containing milk, I presume? Would appreciate illustration.... more
Hello Aditi. I think he can have a banana shake. However it should not be a regular habit. Banana shake is a high calory food item. His calory intake may go high with it. In turn it not only increase the sugars, but may lead to obesity. And obesity will only take you a step back in prevention of diabetes. However I would suggest strict regime of exercise And when I say strict, I dont mean gymming till falling I mean regular exercise in a comfortable fashion. If he has that, he may have his shake But do monitor the sugars I would need more details for a complete answer. Best of luck Dr Saumya Mittal 9873711878 Physician and Diabetician more
