Can Defamation (a serious threat to India) be controlled ?
Defamation is rapidly increasing in India. That's what some criminals do for a living, and their services are not expensive compared to the value that competitors or enemies get in return. Should something be done to handle this threat to India ? Please share information.
According to the Constitution of India, the fundamental right to free speech (Article 19) is subject to "reasonable restrictions". Accordingly, for the purpose of criminal defamation, "reasonable restrictions" are defined in Section 499 of Indian Penal Code, 1860. This section defines Defamation and provides valid exceptions when a statement is not considered to be Defamation. It says that Defamation takes place "by words either spoken or intended to be read, or by signs or by visible representations, to make or publish any imputation concerning any person intending to harm, or knowing or having reason to believe that such imputation will harm, the reputation, of such person." In India, a defamation case can be filed under either criminal law or civil law or Cyber Crime Law, together or in sequence. The punishment for Defamation is a simple imprisonment for up to two years or with fine or with both

There are so many complaints by Indian celebrities that their social media accounts were hacked due to which controversies got birth. All this is the result of these professionals working hard for the defamation industry. There needs to be some monitoring for controlling this defamation industry. more

For IT Professionals who want to make big, they are fast turning towards this domain of Defamation. This possesses huge danger to the basic foundation of whole society. Likewise in other industries also, people are hugely contributing in this Defamation process. This can only be stopped if the lid is broken. Like we recently saw Delhi Police going after Corporate Espionage, similarly this also needs to be brought to justice. more

The Subject of Defamation has multiple coverage in its real Comprehension. The coverage definition also not limited only to that. It needs at times case to case conlusion. Defamation : to a Person, an association, a Society, a Gender, a Culture, a Heritage, a Beleif, a follow, a disciple, like the many.
