Can donations in school admissions be monitored by State Govt. ?
But what about donations in private school admissions ? More than half of Delhi children study in private schools. Majority of them get admissions to schools based on donations (mostly not influence). Can state government somehow monitor the admissions to private schools of Delhi ? I know this is a huge challenge, but some organized strategy can certainly help if the government so wants.
Also note that these donations form a major source of Black Income for these school authorities. So even audits might not suffice because mostly these donations are paid in hard cash. Random organized checks might help uncover some of such scams. But other than indicting fear in school authorities, can the state government plan about it so that deserving students do not lag behind ?
Mostly parents in Delhi are against giving donations (even though they can afford them), and eventually they are ready to compromise with child's future by trusting only parenthood (and upbringing). more
