Can we do survey on charges on banks

Indian banking system is a loot and print media is hand in gloves. They dont write about issues people face.

Here is a first hand experience:

Wanted my SBI savings acc statement for last FY urgently.

Went to the branch to request for the statement as I didn’t have my YONO logged in (which I never use).

Asked them for acc statement’s physical copy, which they said it is ₹118 and I said okay.

Then I came to know it is just a 3 page copy and asked them to give me a soft copy on email which they said is also chargeable ie ₹118.

I asked them how can you charge for a soft copy, they said we have to download and give it to you and getting it from mobile banking is free.

I could get it printed for ₹15 outside if they had given me the soft copy.

Another thing to note is that they charge ₹118 for every 40 transactions which is insane.

I paid ₹236 for a 3 page statement.

This is open loot by the banks. LC Manager must take up more

each and every bank has started charging for any and all kinds of services including digital banking , so use discretion while using any of the services, if you go to any utility organization like electricity , water etc for any services asked i.e even printout of duplicate bill they will charge you an amount and that will reflect in your next bill , check it out next time more
Somewhere we need to understand that banking is a business and it is not free. We have been under too much so-called socialistic policies that we expect people to work for free. However, what is needed is transparency in the charges. In this, banks have been extremely laid backed in transparency. Further, the basic and rationale for certain charges defies logic. The regulator has to get the act in order. more
Only by SBI, not other banks. more
For netbanking users, it is free, you can download the statement from there. Yes its business. Netbanking transfers to other banks, is chargeable. This is not correct. more
I have SBI saving a\c with internet banking and was able to get estatement for privious FY in my email. However my experuence with Axis bank was different. The estatement sent by the bank was out of printing area and therefore I had to visit the branch for a hardcopy, that was provided with charges of about Rs.100/- more
