Even if you study for 20 hours a day to secure a seat at IIT, your seat will be given to someone who has scored half of your marks.

Can we make a movement to move towards economic status based reservation from the current caste based reservation system.

Our next generation is at a major disadvantage. more

Our present reservation system is a curse in our society which has deprived bright future of lakhs of meritorious children since independence. In fact there should not and must not be any reservation system any more for any one excepting a small percentile for physical handicaps and the children of our bereaved soldiers. more
Many such issues are required 1. minimum qualification for entry into legislature. 2. Written test to Judges 3.Land reforms total implementation 4. Clearing pending court cases 5 . written test to Priest (in the same community?).and so on more
Such decision of Govt. simply keep away the true talents from delivering something good to society. It simply wastes the talented manpower for which country has to pay a big price. There is a huge scarcity of talents in govt. right now due to this. How people can think to have better services.? It's high time to withdraw such popular vote bank decision instead create facilities to upscale the knowledge & skill of disadvantage group children to build capacity & competency to stand on their own. more
Now the social upliftment of sc/ st or….. is already changed , I have seen the misuse of quota system is going on in the main stream of every Indian selection , but who is going to bell the cat is a big question mark .. more
I am from general/open category but i think this crib against reservation is not correct. The society is still divided on caste/religion lines - one just needs to open any matrimonial page. As long caste system is alive, there is justification for caste-based reservation. Just end caste rest all will follow While many of my learned general category friends rant about reservation, they are totally silent about FINANCIAL reservation ie admisssion ONLY by MONEY POWER. The cut-off for those getting admissions in private institutes just bcoz they have the money is far lower than any caste based reservation. more
To reduce this divide the government needs to invest big time in the education of the masses rather than continue to support reservations! more
Nilesh Rathi, a detailed ponderance in depth about this situation is needed. more
The business of paid seat must end for professional courses. Similarly caste based reservation must end. Is Laloo, Nitish, KARYNA, MAYAWATI, MULAYAM etc clans are backward or the children of IAS officers, Engineers, Doctors, sr bankers of reserved category need reservation ? ONLY thus class is grabing all reserved seat. more
